Beliefs that Inhibit A Good Designer

Written by  Myra Ray

Quality is more important than design in my business.

In reality, design is a way of conveying quality.

What's true in the lives of individuals applies to companies as well — when you're exhausted, overwhelmed or confused about what to do next, you never look your best. Consumers look at a dirty store, picked-over merchandise, and no design media and come to the same conclusions. Good design is like putting on a suit for an interview — it shows the other person that you care about the relationship.

I would like to have a designer, but I don’t have the time or money to invest.

Designer efforts don't bog people down. Indecision does. The investment of time should only be over the large stuff like the overall company image. And the design media can start small, on business cards or the header of your website. Also, design can organize the unorganized.
